The Information Center for Education (FIS Bildung) is an alliance of over 30
co-operation partners in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The co-ordinating office is situated in the Information Centre for Education at DIPF in Frankfurt. They organise the cooperation, division of labour between the involved partner organisations, and the preparation of common products.

The German Education Index is the principal item of the alliance. With over 940.000 references concerning all areas of education it is the most comprehensive information center for German literature in education. The index references monographs, contributions to collective works, and journal articles.

Die coordination of FIS Bildung has a close collaboration with the office of the German Education Server.
